Meet Julia Black
Julia Black is the founder of Lights On® Learning and the driving force behind its mission to transform parents into phenomenal leaders. With over 15 years of experience designing award-winning learning environments, including BAFTA recognition, Julia has worked at the intersection of creativity, education, and human potential.
As a parent of two children who are now thriving young adults, Julia brings not just professional expertise but lived experience. She understands the challenges families face, from exhaustion and overwhelm to the deep desire to help children shine, and she knows what it takes to guide them through.
Julia’s approach is playful yet practical, compassionate yet bold. She has coached hundreds of parents to switch on their energy, reimagine learning, and lead their families with confidence and joy. Her vision is simple: when parents shine their light, children grow up knowing how to shine theirs — and that’s how families flourish.
‘It has been such a pleasure to work with you. I’m so in awe of your super power – not only what you see in people but the way you communicate with them and the ease with which you see their next steps.’ — Helen
Why we do what we do
Because every family deserves to flourish.

Purpose
We empower parents to step into their full light and lead their families with confidence and joy

Mission
To transform parents into phenomenal leaders who unlock their own potential — and inspire their children to do the same.

Vision
A world where parents thrive in their leadership, and families flourish together.

Values
Courage Counts
We help parents find the courage to lead with light, even in the dark moments.
Authenticity Rules
We encourage parents to show up as their true selves, so their families can do the same.
Growth Spirals
We believe growth is never linear — parents (and families) flourish through spirals of learning, action and reflection.
