Terms and Conditions Lights On Learning

Please read these Terms carefully before purchasing.

These Terms apply to all products and services offered by Explorium Ltd, including programmes, courses, 1:1 coaching and community memberships. By completing your purchase you confirm you have read, understood and agree to be bound by these Terms. They form a legally binding contract between you and Explorium Ltd.

The specific details of what you are purchasing, including components, delivery format and pricing are described on the relevant sales page and in the service agreement shown at checkout.

1. About Us

Explorium Ltd ("we", "us", "our") is a company registered in England and Wales (Company No. 08577396). We trade as Lights On Learning, Lights On Families, Lights On Mum and Julia Black. These Terms govern your purchase of and participation in any product or service we offer ("Product").

2. What You Are Buying

The specific components, delivery format, access duration and pricing of your Product are described on the relevant sales page and in the service agreement shown at checkout. Our Products may include any combination of:

We reserve the right to substitute equivalent platforms where necessary, provided the overall experience is not materially affected. We will give you reasonable notice of any change.

3. Payment

3.1 Price and options

All prices are shown at checkout inclusive of VAT where applicable. Payment may be available as a one-off payment, a payment plan (instalments) or a monthly subscription. Options and the total amount payable are clearly shown before you confirm your purchase.

3.2 Payment plans

If you choose a payment plan you are committing to the full payment schedule. Your obligation to complete all instalments is independent of your engagement with the Product. If a payment fails we reserve the right to suspend access and recover any outstanding balance.

3.3 Subscriptions

Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You may cancel at any time by contacting us. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We will give at least 30 days' notice of any price increase.

3.4 International purchases

If purchasing from outside the UK you may be subject to local taxes or charges for which you are solely responsible.

4. Your Right to Cancel

4.1 Your 14-day statutory right

As a consumer purchasing online you have a statutory right to cancel within 14 calendar days of purchase under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.

4.2 Digital content waiver

Important, please read before purchasing:

Where your Product includes digital content and you request immediate access at checkout, you will be asked to:

  1. Give your express consent to us beginning supply of that digital content immediately; and
  2. Acknowledge that by doing so you lose your 14-day right to cancel in respect of that digital content.

This consent is collected via a tick box at checkout. If you do not tick the box, access will not begin until the 14-day period has expired.

4.3 Services during the cancellation period

If services begin during the 14-day period at your request and you subsequently cancel, you will be charged a proportionate amount for services already delivered.

4.4 How to cancel

Email teamlightson@lightsonuniverse.co.uk with subject line "Cancellation Request" within 14 days of purchase, or use the model cancellation form at the end of these Terms. Refunds will be processed within 14 days.

4.5 After the cancellation period

After 14 days we do not offer refunds except where we have materially failed to deliver as described and not remedied that failure, or where required by law. Cancelling a payment plan does not cancel outstanding payment obligations.

5. Access, Duration and Termination

5.1 How you access your Product

Access details and login instructions will be provided by email after purchase. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for having a compatible device and internet connection.

5.2 Duration

Access lasts for the period stated on the sales page. If no duration is stated, access continues while the Product is active and payments are up to date. We will give at least 90 days' notice of any permanent discontinuation.

5.3 Personal and non-transferable

Your access is personal to you. You must not share login credentials or give others access. Breach may result in immediate termination without refund.

5.4 Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms, our Community Guidelines, behave in a harmful way, or fail to make payments. Termination does not cancel outstanding payment obligations.

6. Coaching Sessions

6.1 Format and delivery

Where your Product includes coaching, sessions are delivered via video call. Sessions may be individual (1:1) or group, as described at the point of sale. Number, duration and format are stated on the sales page.

6.2 Recording

Sessions may be recorded. Where recorded you will be informed before the session begins. By participating you consent to being recorded. Recordings are made available to relevant participants only and stored securely. You must not record any session yourself without prior consent of all participants.

6.3 Replays and missed sessions

Where sessions are recorded, replays will be made available as soon as practicable. For group sessions, the replay is the substitute for a missed session, you are not entitled to an alternative individual session. For 1:1 sessions, please give at least 48 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule.

6.4 Coaching is not professional advice

All sessions are for educational and personal development purposes only. Nothing discussed constitutes professional medical, psychological, therapeutic, nutritional, financial, legal or other regulated advice. Please see Section 9 for our full disclaimer.

7. Community Access

Where your Product includes community access (currently hosted on Mighty Networks), you also agree to Mighty Networks' Terms of Service at mightynetworks.com.

Our community is a confidential, supportive space. By participating you agree to:

We reserve the right to remove content or members where necessary. We are not responsible for content posted by other members.

8. Data Collected During Delivery

As part of delivering our Products we may collect information through self-reflection exercises, feedback forms, session participation and community activity. This data is used solely to support your progress and improve our approach.

Note on sensitive information: Our work focuses on family life, children's learning and parenting. You may choose to share sensitive information about your child or family. Please share only what you are comfortable with. We will always handle such information with care and in accordance with our Privacy Policy and data protection obligations.

9. Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability

9.1 Not professional advice

Lights On Learning is an educational and personal development business. Our coaches are not doctors, therapists, psychotherapists, counsellors, mental health professionals, dietitians, nutritionists, lawyers or financial advisers. Nothing in our Products constitutes regulated professional advice. If you have concerns about your or your child's health, wellbeing, finances or legal position, please consult a qualified professional.

9.2 Results disclaimer

The Lights On approach provides educational content, coaching and community support. We are committed to delivering high-quality, evidence-informed material. However, we cannot guarantee specific outcomes for you or your family. The results you experience will depend on your individual circumstances, the time and effort you invest, how consistently you apply what you learn, and factors outside our control. The experiences and results shared by other participants represent their individual journeys and are not a promise or prediction of what you will achieve.

9.3 Limits of our liability

Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, breach of your statutory consumer rights, or any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. Subject to the above, our total liability shall not exceed the total fees paid by you. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or incidental loss.

9.4 Your statutory rights

Our services will be provided with reasonable care and skill. Our digital content will be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. These Terms do not affect your statutory rights.

10. Intellectual Property

10.1 Our intellectual property

All materials, including videos, workbooks, frameworks, coaching methodologies, course content and recordings are protected by copyright. All rights are reserved by Explorium Ltd.

10.2 Your licence

On purchase you receive a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use our materials for your own personal, non-commercial use only. You may not copy, redistribute, resell, share or use materials commercially.

10.3 Your content

Anything you create during a Product, personal reflections, journal entries, assignments, remains your own. We will not use your personal content without your consent.

10.4 Testimonials

We will always seek your explicit consent before using any testimonial, review or case study in our marketing. We will ask separately via a consent form before using identifiable information about you or your family.

11. Data Protection and Privacy

We process your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy at lightsonuniverse.com/privacy-policy. By purchasing you acknowledge that:

Both parties agree to treat as confidential any non-public information shared in connection with a Product, including personal information shared by participants and any proprietary business information shared by us. This obligation continues after your access ends.

13. International Clients

Our Products are available worldwide. If purchasing from outside the UK you are responsible for local compliance and any applicable taxes. EU consumers retain applicable EU consumer protection rights. All Products are delivered in English. These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

14. Complaints

Email teamlightson@lightsonuniverse.com with subject "Complaint". We will acknowledge within 5 business days and aim to resolve within 28 days. Data protection complaints will be acknowledged within 30 days. You may also escalate to the ICO at ico.org.uk or call 0303 123 1113.

15. General

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and the Product description at the point of sale, form the entire agreement between you and us. We may update these Terms from time to time, we will notify active customers of material changes by email at least 30 days before they take effect. If any provision is found invalid it will be severed and remaining provisions continue in full force. These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
